AWARENESS WEEK

Five x More are the founders the UK’s first awareness week dedicated to Black maternal health.

On 16 – 22 September 2020, a weeklong campaign was dedicated to raising awareness about the disparities in maternal outcomes for Black women.

Follow us on Instagram and Twitter for all the updates. Black women in the UK are five times more likely to die during pregnancy and childbirth in comparison to a White woman (MBRRACE, 2018).

We created resources during the week for those who will be engaging in the campaign and signposted them to useful resources if they needed it. The overall hashtag for the awareness week was #fivexmoreaw20

For every day during the awareness week there was a theme, each with its own unique hashtag.
