Five X More
Campaigning for better maternal health outcomes
Five X More CIC is a grassroots organisation committed to changing and highlighting Black maternal health outcomes in the UK. It was started in 2019 when two Black mothers came together with the dream of improving maternal mortality rates and health care outcomes.
Five X More is dedicated to making changes with its parliamentary lobbying to the government and recommendations to the NHS. It also focuses on empowering Black women and birthing people to make informed choices and advocate for themselves throughout their pregnancies and after childbirth.
BLACK WOMEN IN THE UK ARE 3.7 TIMES MORE LIKELY TO DIE IN PREGNANCY & CHILDBIRTH (MBRRACE, 2023).

With your support Five X More has an ambitious and exciting plan to play a leading role in eradicating the statistics for good.
“It is a fact that Black women experience higher rates of complication in childbirth. As we strive to make childbirth safer for all mothers and babies we must make special effort to empower Black women to manage their health and wellbeing throughout their pregnancy. I commend Five xmore for their work in raising awareness. This is a challenge we must tackle to make childbirth safer for mum and baby”
— Jackie Doyle Price MP
“I want to pay tribute to the work of Five X More who continue to raise awareness and call for change and I hope this house will give members the opportunity to fully debate the issue of Black maternal health.”
